Austin fun for kids and teens

Planning a trip with my kids — ages 6 and 13 — and struggling to find activities that both of them will enjoy. It feels like everything is either for little kids or adults. Are there any cool places in Austin that work for a wide age range?

That age gap can definitely be a challenge when planning a trip. We recently did a family visit to Austin with our 7-year-old and 14-year-old and were in the same boat. I ended up using this helpful list of places to visit in austin with family that actually includes options for different age ranges. There are spots with enough energy and activities for older kids, but also enough fun to keep the younger ones engaged. We found a nature spot that both kids loved — one climbed trees and explored trails, and the other just enjoyed the open space and small animal encounters. There’s even a few quirky local attractions that were surprisingly big hits. The list gave us more variety than the usual museum/zoo combo. Definitely recommend giving it a look!
